LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. & EATONTOWN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sphere Communications and Quintum Technologies announced today that the companies have certified the interoperability of Sphere’s award-winning Sphericall IP PBX application with Quintum Technologies’ VoIP gateways. The combination provides a powerful set of options for enterprises to assure they have reliable communications across all office locations.

Sphere’s award-winning and high-certified unified communications and IP PBX software is an open system that utilizes SIP technology to work with industry leading telephony device manufacturers such as Quintum Technologies. Quintum’s Tenors provide a remote office gateway solution that are registered with the Sphericall IP PBX. The Quintum Tenor gateways integrate legacy equipment such as fax machines, credit card readers and postal meters as well as providing local trunking and station interfaces at remote locations while users at those sites become part of an enterprise-wide unified communications network. Intelligence built into the Quintum gateways retain the ability to have normal communications in the event that corporate connectivity lapses occur – providing business continuity for remote office locations.

The Survivable Tenor gateways contains a local SIP proxy that provides survivability for local SIP endpoints and intelligent call routing to keep any SIP-based IP communications up and running if connectivity with the main proxy server is lost. It will assure that basic, essential calling functions will continue even if connectivity to the central IP PBX is lost. And its unique endpoint discovery feature allows Tenor to be easily deployed without requiring configuration for SIP endpoints. Tenors sophisticated call routing and programmable interfaces allow the integration of analog telephony devices and trunks IP telephony network.
