SPHERE COMMUNICATIONS BECOMES PART OF THE NEC GLOBAL FAMILY OF COMPANIES
NEC Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has acquired Sphere Communications Inc., a U.S. based company specializing in service oriented unified communications software technology. The acquisition provides core technology for new service oriented communications solutions and enables NEC to accelerate the growth of its global enterprise solutions business.
Under the terms of the agreement, NEC has acquired all of the shares of Sphere Communications. Sphere Communications will retain its offices in Lincolnshire, Illinois with Graeme Robinson as President and CEO. Sphere Communications will be part of a global initiative under NEC’s Enterprise Solutions Business Unit.
